PRIMARY EDUCATION TEACHERS AND SCHOOL REFORM IN THE EDUCATIONAL FIELD OF MAN AND THE WORLD OF WORK

The article is aimed at investigating the views of primary education teachers on their professional preparedness to teach the planned curriculum of the subject of man and the world of work. As a research instrument we chose a questionnaire of our own design, which was distributed in electronic form to all fully organized primary schools in the Slovak Republic (1 186 schools). We found that the respondents in the thematic unit Paper and Cardboard rate their professional competences the best. The article presents one of the outcomes of a dissertation on the topic "Verification of the Development of the Algorithmic Component of Computational Thinking." Specifically, it introduces the problems students face when solving a set of tasks of increasing difficulty. The problems are presented for each task individually and are compared with the reported issues observed and described in previous research that utilized the Lego Mindstorms EV3 robotic kit. Digital competences are a key element of the professional development of future teachers in the context of today's digitized society. This article focuses on the issue of self-awareness and self-assessment of digital competences among students of teacher training programs.
