MODELS OF APPROACHES TO DIGITAL COMPETENCES

The review study analyzes 15 papers from the SCOPUS database, which deal with the issue of digital competences in the field of education. Based on this analysis, it offers a basic view of both the research field itself and the topics described in these articles. They show that, although the issue is current and socially relevant, it is still not given due attention in the field of education—neither researching nor theoretically. At the same time, the review study points to some broader issues of competence research as such.

The article presents a good practice of teaching 3D modeling and 3D printing at an elementary school. The trend of 3D printing penetrates the general public and specialized workplaces. This example can be a recommendation for other primary schools. It is primarily discussed how to design similar teaching and what elements can be used.

GENDER DIFFERENCES OF PUPILS’ KNOWLEDGE IN SELECTED FIELDS OF TECHNOLOGY

The article presents the results of a research probe dealing with gender differences in the level of secondary school pupils’ knowledge in the Czech Republic in the field of selected technically oriented topics. Based on data obtained using didactic tests of the cognitive level with the size of a research sample of almost a thousand male or female pupils, we can state that a significantly higher level of knowledge was identified in secondary school male pupils in the field of hand tools. A significantly higher level of knowledge of female pupils of the same age was identified in the field of textile production.
